MUHC is delighted to announce the appointment of Phil Burrows as Director of Hockey and Men's Head Coach.

Phil is New Zealand's caps record holder, earned over 16 years and three Olympic Games, and has 12 years’ experience in the Dutch Hockey League. Beyond his resume as an elite player, Phil has developed his skills in coaching, analysis, and player development through various roles at top European clubs and with Hockey New Zealand, as well as tertiary studies.

As Director of Hockey, Phil will oversee MUHC's High Performance Program: helping to develop the skills of the club's men's & women's top squads, working closely with hockey scholarship holders in the University's Elite Athlete Program, and supporting all the club's coaches with advice and development. Combined with this role, Phil will also coach the club's newly-promoted Men's Premier League team.

This appointment is the latest step in MUHC's long-term commitment to delivering a sustainable premier league program, supporting student athletes, and achieving the University's strategic vision of being the leading sporting university in Australia.

Phil will be taking up the position in May with an initial three year appointment. We welcome him to the club and look forward to working with him.
